THE ABYSS

Solo or Septet

The interior of the Abyss changes with each visit. Will you face its dangers with every hero available or attempt to explore it alone?

Challenge the Abyss alone, or team up as seven?
The dungeons of the Abyss change shape each time you enter. Many enemies and bosses await you.

Undertake Tag-Team Missions
Use crystals found throughout the Abyss to switch characters or return to Base Camp. If you’re KO’d in the middle of an expedition, you’ll lose some of the items you’ve collected.
Find Oodles of Items
Defeat all sorts of enemies to acquire crafting materials, and cut down plants to gain seeds you can plant back at Base Camp.
Choose Your Playstyle
Each hero has a unique set of skills that serve a variety of purposes, from clearing out hordes of enemies to temporarily boosting their own abilities.
Expand your Battle Options
Defeat enemies for experience points to level up each hero and unlock advanced classes with more powerful skills.
Exploit Enemies’ Weaknesses
The enemies you encounter have different weaknesses, such as a vulnerability to slashing attacks or lightning damage. Consult your monster encyclopedia to review these weaknesses, then use the right weapon or element type to take advantage of them.
BASE CAMP

Create Items and Enhance Gear with Side Jobs

While resting up at Base Camp, ask your companions to make items and upgrade your gear.

Side Jobs
Each hero has a non-combat specialty, such as farming or carpentry, that they can utilize to produce useful items for the whole team.
Mementos
Enemies can drop special items called Mementos, which contain faded memories of weapons and equipment. Appraise them back at Base Camp. then use materials produced at the Workshop and Atelier to turn these blueprints into useful gear.
Cooking
Grow crops and collect animal products at Base Camp to cook dishes that you can bring into the Abyss. Eating them gives you buffs, such as a strength increase or experience boost.
Upgrade Gear
Everything you do at Base Camp will make your heroes stronger. Create new equipment then enhance them with powerful Magistones to help you delve deeper in the Abyss.
